About Us:
We are Larissa and Eric, doing business as Reef Botanicals, and the makers of our high quality natural soaps and candles. We knew we were right for each other early on, but didn't even realize until after we married in March of 2009 that we both loved to make things from scratch.
First as children separately, and now as adults together, between us we have taken up latch hook, knitting, acting, building, fine arts, baking, cooking, face painting, henna artistry, beer brewing, photography, candle making, and now soap making. If it involves creating something, it's likely we've tried it!
It was only natural for us to combine our talents for art, craft, and recipe development and step into the arts of candle and soap making.
We do not use any pre-made bases, but make all of our soap and candles ourselves, from our own recipes, with our own four hands, in small batches. The products you are purchasing today were likely made last week!

About Our Soap:
We use only the finest natural ingredients in our soaps, to give you a luxurious bath experience. We therefore do not use commercial synthetic fragrance oils; if an essential oil is not available, we simply will not offer that scent. Many of our soaps have nothing but the natural scent of the ingredients involved, and are therefore suitable for those with allergies and sensitivities.
The same standard is held for colorants, and the colors you see in our soaps come only from the ingredients themselves or safe, natural additives.
*You may be surprised to learn that soap making is not regulated by the FDA, and so iron oxides which are banned by the FDA in cosmetic use are often used in handmade soap for color! We will not use anything that is unsafe for the skin, so if we cannot find a safe way to color our soap, it is left in its natural hues.*
Many of our soaps are suitable for vegans and/or vegetarians, and those are noted for your convenience.
None of our products have been or will be tested on animals. We test them on ourselves first, and once we've determined it's appropriate, we let our friends and family use them and give feedback before listing them here for your purchase.
